Female Characters

Warning: Spoilers ahead. Which do you prefer, a cute girl or a strong girl? What if you can have both? That is what female characters in most anime, they are cute, strong, and can strangle you with their bare hands. The female characters in Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) is no different. They are strong-willed, fearless, and cute. Do not ever let their beautiful smile fool you, these women are no strangers to battles. They may have different reasons to fight, but there is no denying that they can be one of the strongest female characters to look up to. In Demon Slayer women are either a demon or humans. Some could immediately conclude that demons are stronger than humans but that is not necessarily the case as some of these humans have extraordinary skills that could easily defeat a demon. It would be a long discussion as to how to rank them but the best way to do that is to compare their skills and abilities. Here is a list of the top ten strongest female characters in Demon Slayer ranked according to their ability. Older Sister Spider Demon Out of fear of demon slayers, she teamed up with Rui and other demons in Natagumo Mountain. Despite being cowardly and always running, she is one of the strongest female characters given that she had killed 80 humans while she reside in the mountains. These humans were not eaten immediately but instead stored in the spider web that could be consumed later. Shinobu discovered this when she defeated her while helping the newer demon slayers. She could shapeshift so she would have the same appearance as Rui and she could be part of the family. She has spider-like abilities, like being able to make spider webs and having keen eyesight. Spider Demon Family Mother Spider Demon Being able to command an army of small white spiders is not easy. You need to have immense power to be able to do that. She can even control still alive demon slayers. She is extremely skilled in puppetry because she can still manipulate living beings, and they are demon slayers. It is noted during her fight with Tanjiro and his friends that the thread, spider web, that she is using is harder and stronger than the others. It was known that she was a demon in the mountain and when Rui came to the mountain they joined her family and she was forced to change her appearance to suit her role as the mother of the family. Her special skills include spider-like abilities, string manipulation, and puppet control. Spider Demon Family Kanae Kocho The Flower Hashira is one of the strongest. She may have a carefree attitude but she is one of the strongest, being a Hashira who fought against Doma, the Upper Moon 2. She might have lost to him but that does not mean that she is weak. She stood on her feet after losing her parents to demons and lead their house. She is also soft-hearted for saving a child who is a victim of slavery. It is not easy to raise a child who could not speak. These feats may not be physical strengths but emotional quotient. The ordeals she had to go through is too much that most ordinary human would not be able to survive. She had mastered the Flower Breathing Style that she was able to fight toe to toe with Upper Moon 2, Doma. Kanae Kocho Daki After almost dying in the hands of a samurai, Daki became a demon. She grew up in a less privileged life and she works as a courtesan in the Red Light District. Despite being such a young girl, she work so she could feed herself and her brother. After almost being killed by the Samurai, by having her tied and burned, she became a demon and started eating the finest people in the Red Light District. She was able to fight one of the strongest Hashira, Tengen Uzui. While she died, her Demon Blood Art is one of the strongest and made the Red Light District Art having one of the best fight scenes. As a courtesan she is seductive, as a demon, she is ruthless. Do not be fooled by her outer appearance, she had eaten 7 Hashira in the past and she has a great regeneration ability which is proven to be bothersome to the squad of demon slayers led by Tengen Uzui. Daki also have immunity to the Nachirin sword so she could not easily be decapitated. She also has immense speed and reflexes. Her thunderclap is used to coordinate her attacks with her brother. Being an Upper Moon demon is already a credential that you are one of the strongest demons there is. Gyutaru and Daki Tamayo Her knowledge about demons and demon transformation can make even Muzan afraid of her. She is highly intelligent which makes her scary. As a doctor, she is capable of healing both demons and humans. Holding in a grudge against Muzan for as long as she lives is not easy. She is even capable of escaping from him and hiding from him. Few demons can do that. Some demons cannot even run away from Muzan let alone hide from him. She can use her blood to cast different spells. She also created a drug that can stop the progression of the demon blood, this drug was used for Zenitsu so he would not turn into the demon. She also created a four-phase drug that can greatly weaken Muzan. She collaborated with Shinobu Kocho and Yushiro to create this drug. The first phase of this drug was used on Nezuko so she could be human again. Tamayo Shinobu Kocho The strength of the Insect Hashira was first shown in the battle against the spiders in Natagumo Mountain when she killed the Older Sister Demon Spider with one swoop of her sword. Shinobu has a jolly and carefree personality but her hatred for demons who killed her family and friends had been immense that she had been working tirelessly, even collaborating with Tamayo, to make sure that they can create a drug that can eliminate demons. Being a Hashira and going through all the hellish training they have she has extreme stamina and endurance. She can go toe-to-toe with Doma and other demons without getting exhausted. Her Insect Breathing style allows her to have the ability of the insect such as flexibility, speed, reflexes, and agility. Shinobu Kocho Kanao Tsuyuri Kanao was rescued by the Kocho sisters from the black market. Later she became their adopted sister and became a member of their household. She is also the Tsuguko of Shinobu Kocho despite not having the same breathing style as her. Kanao is known to have good swordsmanship having learned the Flower Breathing by merely watching her older sister Kanae. When she fought against Doma, after Shinobu was killed, she verbally attacked him. The verbal attack was so strong that Doma lost his composure for the first time. During the rehabilitation arc, her immense speed and reflexes were displayed when she trained with Tanjiro. Kanao Tsuyuri Nakime Nakime was able to kill humans even before she was a demon. She killed so many because she has to do that before she plays the instrument. She is seen as a mysterious woman who is used to summon the Moons. At first glance she may seem weak, but who else is capable of controlling the Infinity Castle as if it is a part of their body? Nakime may seem to be timid and have few words to say but she is one of the strongest. Muzan even applauded her investigation skills as she was able to locate Muzan to kill him before she plays her biwa in an establishment. Nakemi Nezuko Kamado Nezuko has a different strength. She draws it from the will to protect her brother. Her Demon Blood Art is used mainly to aid her brother when they are fighting another demon. She had been toe-to-toe with demons that were seen stronger than her. In their fight against Rui, it can be seen how Nezuko easily snaps the silk spider web that her brother cannot break with his sword. She has very strong fingernails and she can easily snap demons in two. It can be seen in different fight scenes how Nezuko was able to decapitate the demons they are fighting. It was later discovered that Nezuko is immune to sunlight and Muzan desires her blood more than anything. Nezuko can also transform so she would fit in a box that her brother would carry around during the day. Nezuko Kamado Mitsuri Kanroji The smiling face of the Love Hashira should not fool you. This woman can decapitate you in an instant. She is one of the strongest Hashira, even if ranked with men, she can come second or third. Her swordsmanship and strength work hand in hand and that enables her to control her sword. Her sword is so thin that it is used more like a whip than as a sword. She was one of the very few who was able to finish the Final Selection Exam with only six months of training. She has precise swordsmanship and can cut through thunder and sound waves. Her muscles are denser than any regular man. This is the reason why she wants to join the Demon Slayer Corps. She could not find a regular man who can be stronger than her. Mitsuri Kanroji
