Mitsuri Kanroji was born with four other siblings. Their mother, also known for her strength, was still surprised by the extraordinary strength of Mitsuri. Her unique muscle composition, which is eight times denser than an ordinary human, made her stronger compared to most people.
Her enormous strength requires her to have a large appetite. She ate so much sakura mochi that the color of her hair started changing to the color of sakura, pink. When she turned 17, the intended marriage did not proceed as she was seen as a freak and someone different.
She dyed her hair and ate little when after she was rejected. A potential partner approached her, but she started to doubt if pretending to be something she was not would work out till the end. It was unknown if she was the one who left him or someone else.
Oyakata then approached her and told her there was nothing wrong with being extremely strong. She was encouraged to be different and recognize her extraordinary strength. Six months after training, she finally joined the Demon Slayer Corps and rose to the rank of the Hashira using her extraordinary strength.
Mitsuri loves praising her fellow Hashira. When they met during the Rehabilitation Arc, she praised the actions of her fellow Hashira as well as their scars. She gets mortified when she hears that Kyojuro Renguko died. Mitsuri improved her bond with Tanjiro and Nezuko in the Swordsmith Village.
They ate together, and she even influenced Tanjiro to have a huge appetite because of how much she eats. Tanjiro asked her why she joined the Corps. She was hesitant to answer, but she confessed that she joined the Corps because she wanted to meet a man who was stronger than her.
Mitsuri believes that women want a man stronger than them, a man who can protect them. If she joins the Demon Slayer Corps and becomes a Hashira, she can join such strong men. Tanjiro is surprised by the reason, but Mitsuri noted that it is not the first time it happened.
As they continue to talk, Mitsuri compliments Tanjiro for surviving his fight with Upper Moon. She told them it was essential for his growth as a demon slayer, and Tanjiro had been stronger since the last time they met.
After she left the village and went back to her district, the Upper Moon 4 and 5 attacked the hidden Swordsmith Village. When she heard of the attack, she immediately returned to the village to help the other Corps members fighting the Upper Moons.
She got angry with the Upper Moons, seeing that they were hurting the other members of the Corps. As she assists them in the fight, she can display her swordsmanship and the different forms of her Love Breathing style. During this time, she was able to awaken her Demon Slayer Mark.
In their last battle against Muzan, Mitsuri was out of commission and was brought by Obanai away from the battle. She did not want to go or be a burden to her colleagues. She insisted on still fighting.
When Obanai left so he could go back to the battle, Mitsuri told him to come back. Obanai never returned, and Mitsuri could only wish that they would be reincarnated and that they could be together in their next life.
Mitsuri has an average height; she is curvaceous and muscular. Her eyes are round and pale green, with long eyelashes. She has a beauty mark beneath each of her eyes. She also has a pale complexion. Her hair is long and light pink. Her hair fades into the color of lime green halfway through.
She has bangs in the form of five choppy clumps hanging over her face. She also has three hair braids. Her demon slayer uniform is heavily tinted with pink color. She wore a white haori that Kyojuro Renguko gave her.
She leaves the chest area of her uniform open. She wears a skirt instead of the standard tattsuke-hakama pants. While in the Swordsmith Village, she wears a floral kimono. She is also seen wearing navy blue thigh-high socks layered with the vertically striped lime-green socks that Obanai gave her.
She also wears a white zori with pink straps. When she fought Muzan, her left and back braids were cut off. She also lost both her arms.
Mitsuri is a very emotional person. She is jolly, passionate, and loves complimenting people. The Hashira of Love is always flustered, shy, and extremely kind to others. Mitsuri is exceptionally kind to Obanai, who she has a huge crush on.
Mitsuri is the kind who would not show mercy to demons. She is one of the most dedicated members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Her reason for joining the Corps is for her to find a suitable husband, and she feels guilty about her reason for joining the Corps. She is lovable and can get excited about her friends’ achievements.
Mitsuri is one of the strongest demon slayers. Her muscle composition is eight times that of an ordinary human. She is an excellent combatant and so powerful that she was able to join the Corps with only six months of training.
During the attack on the Swordsmith Village, Mitsuri easily subdued the Upper Moons who attacked the village. While battling the Upper Moon 4, Hantengu’s Clone, Zohakuten awakened her Demon Slayer Mark. Her mark was two hearts with winged shapes. These hearts are arranged vertically, and they point toward each other. On the side of the hearts are the wings.
Her speed, reflexes, stamina, and endurance are extraordinary and worthy of that of a Hahira. Her sword was so thin that it looked like a whip. She is known to be one of the best swordsmen in the entire organization. Her skill is so good that she can easily slice up demons. She mastered the six forms of the Love Breathing style. While training with Kyojuro, she learned the Fire Breathing style.
