Who Is The Creator Of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba?
Koyoharu Gotouge is a mangaka responsible for creating Kimetsu no Yaiba. But an air of mystery surrounds this author. No one knows his real name, as everyone believes that Koyoharu is a pseudonym. Nor do they know what his gender is; the widespread popular belief is that he is a woman, but there is no confirmation of this fact either.
Koyoharo, in all his work publications, uses an avatar of a lizard. No one doubts the quality and dedication she puts into each of her works. All critics, his colleagues, and the general public applaud the excellence of his works. So much, so that Time magazine recently included him in the list of the 100 emerging personalities in the artistic field.
The Creation Of Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro Kamado comes from the mind of Koyoharu Gotouge, who initially thought of a one-shot manga with Japanese motifs. Tatsuhiko Katayama, Koyoharu’s chief editor, was worried that this one-shot would be too dark for young people. For this reason, he asked Gotouge if he could come up with another type of lead character that would be “brighter.”
In many interviews, Gotouge commented that, at first, he had many conflicts with the creation of Tanjiro. Gotouge found too many differences between his protagonist’s personality and the story’s darkness. One of the early designs showed Tanjiro wielding a sword with a smile.
In the end, Gotouge and his team discarded this version. Instead, they drew Tanjiro with the sword but with a more severe expression.
In the original design, Tanjiro had no earrings or scars. Still, it was only at the end that they came up with adding these character traits. The manga editor also commented that Tanjiro is an unusual type of protagonist.
He is very kind and doesn’t show a radical position on things since he can’t hate all demons because his sister is one of them. He’s in a gray area.
Katayama also has a lot of responsibility for Tanjiro’s design. He suggested placing a scar on his forehead.
Who Is Tanjiro Kamado?
Tanjiro Kamado is the eldest of his siblings, a teenager who is 15 years old for most of the series. He has many responsibilities as he provides food for his family as a charcoal seller. One day when he returns from a sale, he discovers that a demon massacred his entire family. His sister Nezuko was the only survivor, now transformed into a demon, but he decided to keep her by his side to cure her.
Tanjiro trains very hard until he develops an ancestral battle technique and an immense will to fight. He has a rigid skull that he uses to hit his opponents and a superhuman perception of smells that helps him detect danger before facing it.
Tanjiro Kamado’s Personality
Tanjiro is a kind person by nature. His friends say he is someone with friendly eyes and a big heart. He has great determination and never gives up when he has to achieve a goal.
Tanjiro has superior inner strength, but that doesn’t stop him from asking for help when he needs it. He cares for his friends and even more so for his younger sister. However, despite having a kind soul, Tanjiro has his limits of patience; he does not like cowardice or rudeness.
The most remarkable characteristic of Tanjiro is his ability to empathize with everyone, even with some demons; this sometimes makes him hesitate when giving the final blow. Tanjiro has a particular way of thinking about demons. He believes that his justice must punish demons who have done evil mercilessly. Still, those who repent of their actions can continue their lives. This maturity of Tanjiro has much to do with his sister’s condition.
It is important to note that as Tanjiro gains experience, he becomes more calculating and strict in all his decisions. This warrior confronts his enemies with respect and dignity and prioritizes justice.
